Shirokane Living

October 7, 2021

Step out from your residence at Homat Capital or Homat Oak. There is the wonderful area of Shirokane/ Takanawa. One of the most affluent neighborhoods in the Minato-ku area, where many of the wealthy and famous live or hangout. Much greenery surrounds the area, with high end restaurants and boutiques. Platinum Street, a popular stroll along the gingko tree lined sidewalks. During the weekend you will find families and couples stopping by the eateries for anything from traditional Japanese soba, Toshian, to hand tossed Pizza at Isola. Don’t miss Erica, famous for its handmade chocolates, very popular during Valentine.

Institute for Nature Study is an oasis of green in the middle of Tokyo. The garden houses the Teien Museum, an art decor building. The garden cafe is lovely to spend the afternoon.

Happoen, a popular venue for holding traditional weddings, surrounded by much greenery and 2 ponds. The 2 Japanese tea houses, great for entertaining guests, make a reservation for an authentic tea ceremony.

Of course in Shirokane/Takanawa there are many other restaurants and shops that may wet your palette.

*Gazta, a wonderful Basque style cheesecake shop, which only produces the best cheesecake in town.
*Maruichi Bagel, just like you were stepping into a small bagel shop in NYC, beautifully made bagels baked daily on the premises.
*Kiwi Kitchen, is a landmark shop, specializes in catering, take out and eat-in, wonderful selection of salads, sandwiches and hot entree. Operated and started by 2 New Zealanders in the late 1990’s, first with catering to offices and school lunches.
*Tender House, a new establishment serving California fusion cuisine.
*Yakiniku Jumbo Shirokane, good friendly atmosphere, excellent Korean BBQ.
*Cafe La Boheme, Italian with indoor and outdoor dining pleasure.
*Appia, a very special Italian private atmosphere dining, fabulous service and food.

There are so many in the area, just take a walk and you will find your right choice.
